Objectives:

  1. Describe the prevalence, reasons, and factors associated with presenteeism among nurses.
  2. Identify personal, workplace, team, and organizational factors that contribute to nurses working despite physical or mental health limitations.
  3. Analyze the impact of presenteeism on nurse well-being, productivity, quality of patient care, and patient safety.
  4. Evaluate strategies to reduce nurse presenteeism, including supportive leadership, positive workplace culture, workload and staffing considerations, and organizational support for nurse health and well-being.
