Motivational Interviewing (MI) Overview for Ambulatory Care Management (ACM) 2024

In this 2.5-hour virtual training, Ambulatory Care Management learners will be able to identify challenges and successes in applying Motivational Interviewing skills and techniques in Ambulatory Care Management (ACM) and to practice MI-adherent strategies within the 4 processes of MI (engaging, focusing, evoking and planning) for ACM specific case studies.

 

 

Target Audience

This course is intended for Ambulatory Care Management nurses, social work, and other interested Ambulatory Care Management team members.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Analyze at least 2 benefits of using Motivational Interviewing (MI) in clinical practice.
  2. Describe the 4 components of the Spirit of MI
  3. Develop foundational skills of motivational interviewing OARS +1 as applied in Ambulatory Care Management (ACM)
  4. Analyze statements that may or may not evoke change talk within ACM case examples.
