This activity is designed for physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other and healthcare professionals and aims to enhance the clinical course of hospitalized patients through faculty discussions, drawing on insights from clinical practice and patient interactions. Participants will learn to effectively communicate with the medical care team by applying case study presentation principles. Additionally, the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing malignant hematology patients will be examined, alongside a comparison of current practices with national treatment guidelines to optimize patient care.

Overall Objectives:

  1. Apply knowledge of the principles of case study presentation in order to demonstrate effective communication with the medical care team.    
  2. Examine the importance of a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to caring for the Malignant Hematology patient    
  3. Compare current practice with national treatment guidelines (NCCN) and current oncology standards of care to optimize the management of the patient with hematologic malignancies
