This series will focus on defining the theory and practice of clinical ethics. When engaging in case consultation, education, and policymaking, clinical ethicists constantly refer to what is “ethically” appropriate, justified, permissible, impermissible, obligatory, etc. In order to practice excellent clinical care in modern medicine, teammates must understand ethical issues, the distinction between research and clinical care, and end-of-life care.
