        Objectives

• Review mechanisms of heat loss and patient risk factors for hypothermia
• Recognize frostbite and review basic treatment principles
• Differentiate between the stages of hypothermia and what exam findings may be seen with each 
• Review management priorities in hypothermic patients 
• Review management of patients with cold water submersion and criteria for withholding resuscitation
• Discuss nuances of hypothermic cardiac arrest management
