Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) is a procedure designed to prevent blood clot formation and maintain catheter patency (free flow of urine). By continuously flushing the bladder with sterile fluid through a 3-way catheter, it prevents blockage and reduces risk of infection or bladder damage, especially after prostate or bladder surgery.

Wisconsin and Michigan Practitioners: Paramedic, CCT Paramedic

  • Review manual irrigation techniques
  • Review continuous irrigation techniques
  • Understand proper placement of drainage system
