Objectives

Learners will be able to:

  • Analyze the impact of chemotherapy-related toxicities on patient outcomes.
  • Compare and contrast the immediate, delayed, and late side effects of chemotherapy.
  • Design a plan to manage and mitigate the most common chemotherapy toxicities using non-medication strategies and over-the-counter and prescription medications.
  • Discuss the importance of patient education to ensure patient understanding of concerning symptoms and when to contact the provider.
