Objectives:

  1. Describe the intrinsic and extrinsic factors associated with medication administration errors among novice registered nurses.
  2. Identify workplace, educational, and organizational influences that contribute to medication administration errors during the transition to professional nursing practice.
  3. Analyze the impact of workload, staffing, communication, workplace culture, and confidence on medication safety and error reporting among newly graduated nurses.
  4. Evaluate evidence-based strategies, including simulation, pharmacology education, mentorship, and supportive work environments, to reduce medication administration errors and improve patient safety.
