Overview: This will be a case presentation on a patient who had significant left ventricular hypertrophy, and a review of imaging and diagnostic criteria distinguishing features of genetic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy versus hypertensive heart disease.
Objectives: Upon completion of the activity, the learner should be able to:
- Definition and Pathology of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
- ECG and Echo Discriminators of hypertensive heart disease versus HCM
- Cardiac MRI patterns associated with left ventricular hypertrophy
- Diagnostic algorithm for left ventricular hypertrophy
