Overview
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is associated with significantly worse outcomes after surgery. Learn how focusing on proactive perioperative protective interventions for surgical patients can significantly reduce acute kidney injury rates and improve patient outcomes.
Objectives: Participants will be able to:
- Describe adverse consequences of acute kidney injury (AKI)
- Describe key interventions to prevent AKI for surgical patients across the continuum
- Discuss project goals, interventions, and outcomes at two hospitals.
- Identify 1-2 specific implications to apply to their practice.
