Description
We have a monthly meeting of VTE committee members. The VTE committee is one of the HAC Committees and part of the Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS). In this meeting, we discuss cases of pediatric VTE within our institution, to review the etiology of the clot as well as discuss potential methods for future prevention. We also discuss available literature regarding pediatric VTE etiology, risks and prevention strategies.

Overall Objectives:
- Identify risk factors for pediatric VTE.
- Identify methods for potential prevention of pediatric VTE or prevention of extension of known VTE.
- Discuss risk factors for pediatric VTE with the multidisciplinary team to determine best prevention and/or management strategies

This activity is designed for physicians, nursing, and other healthcare professionals.
