Objectives:

At the end of this session, the learner will be able to: 

  1. Review the updated Phoenix definitions of pediatric sepsis and septic shock.
  2. Summarize the key changes in the 2026 Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines relevant to emergency department management.
  3. Explain the evidence and rationale underlying the updated guideline recommendations.
  4. Discuss current controversies and evolving evidence in the emergency resuscitation of pediatric septic shock.

Target Audience: All pediatricians, nurses,  and other healthcare professionals.
