Objectives:
After presentation, the participants will be able to:
•Discuss the leading causes of infant mortality in Illinois and Wisconsin, and the long-standing racial disparities that exist.
•Describe care team member’s role as an educator of parents and caregivers about Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID)
•List at least one way to be empowered to increase their own structural competency through a deeper understanding of structural racism as it relates to infant mortality rates.
•Describe ways that the care team member can communicate and advocate for risk-reduction strategies in a respectful and equitable manner.
