Topic:  How to Decrease Stress and Prevent Burnout:  Narrative Medicine Tools for You and Your Patients

Overview: In recent years, the prevalence of stress and burnout has increased for physicians, nurses, and other health professionals. The Advocate Health Narrative Medicine Program has developed several tools that can help build well-being, decrease stress, and prevent burnout. In this webinar, I will discuss tools that can help health practitioners and their patients, and participants will have the opportunity to practice stress-reducing activities.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the activity, the learner should be able to:

•Learn the definition of narrative medicine and what narrative medicine resources are available to you and your team.
•Learn about the narrative medicine research that has been done at Advocate Health, including the 3-Minute Mental Makeover™ and how this can be accessed through LiveWell and the Diaries program.
•Experience the healing power of breathing exercises and writing in this presentation.
