Overview
In 2022, the U.S. infant mortality rate was 5.61 deaths per 1,000 live births, much higher than comparable countries. Safe sleep environments can prevent unexpected infant death but can present challenges. This program features experts from across the enterprise who will discuss the problem of unexpected sudden infant death (SUID) in their areas. They will provide strategies to assist in implementing safe sleep practices in the clinical setting while preparing parents and caregivers for transitioning these practices to the home environment.
Objectives: Participants will be able to:
1. Describe Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) with statistics and related risk factors
2. Discuss how to implement safe sleep strategies and measure outcomes
3. Describe 1-2 takeaways for your practice
