Overview:
This presentation will describe best practices to screen for delirium; evaluate and care for those who develop this geriatric syndrome. Clinicians will further review evidenced based best practice strategies for preventing delirium. This is a collaboration with Older Adults Timely Topics webinar series.

Objectives:

  • Describe delirium and how it differs from dementia. 
  • Describe the screening tools and evaluation of an older adult who has delirium. 
  • Describe initial management strategies for an older adult with delirium. 
  • Apply evidenced based delirium prevention strategies for older adults at risk to develop delirium.
