Topic: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Overview: An informational and experiential session exploring the science-backed practices of Mindfulness and the Mind-Body Connection. Includes common workday challenges, tips to sustain self-care while providing patient care, formal and informal methods of incorporating mindfulness into a busy life and integrating the concept of “being while doing”. Provides practical, brief, “in-the-moment”, tools and resources for both clinicians and their patients.
Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
• Incorporate evidence-based Mindfulness practices throughout the day, for their own wellbeing
• Provide education to patients about the impact and benefits of Mindfulness on the Stress Response
• Share Mindfulness micro-practices and resources with patients
