The goal of the program is to create a welcoming environment where new faculty can thrive both personally and professionally, thereby contributing to the mission and success of WFUSM. This program is fundamental to faculty development and leadership training at every career stage and includes both virtual and in-person sessions.

The topics addressed include academic scholarship and promotion, teaching and leadership training, professionalism and career development, communication and teamwork skills, as well as personal and professional well-being. All participants have opportunities for mentorship and coaching, and participants will benefit from the wisdom of WFUSM faculty mentors and coaches. New faculty are grouped into multidisciplinary cohorts to support each other, fostering a sense of belonging and helping everyone to flourish. The New Faculty Development Program lifts everyone up by bringing together recently hired faculty to think boldly together, embrace the unknown, and lead the way.
