All Wisconsin and Michigan Practitioners: EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, CCT Paramedic
Learning Objectives
- Understanding of pathophysiology of ventilation and production of carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Learn importance of monitoring ETCO2 and when it should be used
- Methods of monitoring ETCO2
- Using ETCO2 for advanced airway placement confirmation and continued airway patency
- Gain knowledge of appropriate ETCO2 ranges and how increasing/decreasing ventilation affects
- Review case studies

This course is approved by the EMS Medical Director for continuing education credit. This service medical director approval ensures credits are accepted by the State of Wisconsin EMS Section and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
This course is not considered pre-approved education by the State of Michigan Bureau of Emergency Preparedness, EMS, and Systems of Care and does not qualify for hourly credit.
