2024 Protocol Overview & I-Gel Simulation Training - 4/11/2024
In-person initial education session introducing the 2024 EMS Clinical Guidelines. Session will review the highlights of the protocol changes, provide initial i-gel airway education and confirm competency with hands-on education and simulated cardiac arrest scenario.
Target Audience
All Wisconsin and Michigan Practitioners: EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, CCT Paramedic
Learning Objectives
- Familiarization with 2024 EMS Clinical Guidelines
- Understanding of the Protocol Highlights core changes
- Attain competency with i-gel supraglottic airway including:
- Indications
- Sizing
- Placement
- Securement
- Confirmation and Monitoring
- Complete CPR integrated scenario with i-gel placement
Lake-Shore Conference Rooms - 3rd Floor
- Use hospital's Main Entrance
- Take elevators behind staircase to third floor
- Turn left when exiting the elevators
- Then first right to the Lake-Shore Conference rooms
NOTE: Main Entrance doors automatically lock at 6 PM, after this time please enter through the ER.
This course is approved by the EMS Medical Director for continuing education credit. This service medical director approval ensures credits are accepted by the State of Wisconsin EMS Section and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
This course is not considered pre-approved education by the State of Michigan Bureau of Emergency Preparedness, EMS, and Systems of Care and does not qualify for hourly credit.
