Course Overview:
This session will review the clinical applications of these technologies and their role in supporting glycemic control. Participants will learn to identify situations in which device interruptions increase the risk of hyperglycemia or diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and explore strategies to reduce those risks. The presentation will also examine how to interpret CGM and insulin pump data to support informed clinical decision-making and patient care.

Course Objectives:

  1. Describe the clinical applications of continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps.

  2. Identify patients at risk for hyperglycemia or diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) during CGM or insulin pump interruptions and apply mitigation strategies.

  3. Interpret CGM and insulin pump data to recognize key strengths and limitations for clinical care.
