Objectives
Upon completion of the activity the learner should be able to:

  • Review epidemiology, pathophysiology, classification and workup of patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFU).
  • Follow a “simplified” approach to risk assessment and causation of patients with DFU.
  • Present a multidisciplinary team approach to patients with DFU and introduce acute/subacute pathways.
  • Provide clinical examples of patients with DFUs and introduce innovative surgical solutions.
