Description: Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) has become an important alternative for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation who are not ideal candidates for long-term anticoagulation. However, determining the optimal antithrombotic strategy following the procedure remains a complex clinical challenge. This presentation will explore current recommendations for post-LAAO antithrombotic therapy, the comparative use of different anticoagulant and antiplatelet options, and the role of imaging in long-term management. Evidence from recent studies will be discussed to help guide clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
