Speaker: Alejandra Diaz Sierra, MD Third-year Cardiology Fellow, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center
Moderator: Jeffrey Ziffra, MD Cardiologist, Advocate Heart Institute, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital
Overview: This lecture will review contemporary strategies for physiologic coronary lesion assessment comparing CT-derived FFR, angiography - derived FFR (cathworks), and invasive FFR/iFR. This talk will ultimately highlight how these modalities complement one another and inform revascularization decisions in modern practice.
Objectives: Upon completion of the activity, the learner should be able to:
- Compare the principles, evidence-based, and diagnostic performance of the different modalities for physiology evaluation of coronary lesions.
- Recognize clinical and anatomic situations in which discordance between non-invasive, angiography-derived, and invasive physiologic measurements is most likely to occur and identify strategies to resolve these discrepancies.
- Summarize key randomized trials and major registries evaluating the different modalities, including their diagnostic accuracy, clinical outcomes, and impact on downstream testing and revascularization.
