Objectives:​ ​At the end of this activity, learners should be able to:

  • Identify key patient-reported factors that contribute to inpatient falls, including physiological changes, environmental barriers, and help-seeking behaviors.
  • Evaluate how patient perceptions and experiences influence fall risk and confidence in mobilizing.
  • Implement patient-centered strategies, such as proactive rounding, environmental modifications, and supportive communication, to minimize the risk of falls in the inpatient setting.
  • Incorporate insights from qualitative research into daily nursing practice to improve fall prevention efforts and patient outcomes.
