Objectives:
At the end of this session, the learner will be able to: 

  1. Recognize common clinical scenarios in which refusal of care occurs in pediatric practice
  2. Apply a structured framework to assess the level of risk associated with refusal
  3. Differentiate between low, moderate, and high-risk refusal scenarios and tailor management accordingly
  4. Utilize effective communication strategies to address parental concerns and maintain therapeutic alliance
  5. Identify situations that require escalation, including involvement of interdisciplinary teams or legal resources
