Overall Objectives:
- Design key elements of treatment protocols for patients with cancer and apply to applicable treatment plans in clinical practice.
- Integrate information about emerging diagnostics, technologies, and therapeutics related to oncology to applicable treatment plans.
- Identify common high risk cancer problems so they can be triaged and treated appropriately.
- Evaluate recent innovations in Oncology clinical practice in order to assess their use for safe and effective patient care.
- Summarize recent advances in oncology research in order to design best-practice approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer
- Design diagnostic and therapeutic plans for common presentations of cancer.
- Evaluate contributing factors to near-miss cases, including breakdowns in communication and coordination of care.
- Apply current practice guidelines in the field of medicine or surgery to patient treatment plans.
- Improve patient outcomes through better diagnosis and management of cancer and complications reviewed as measured by the RQRS Dashboard, internal cancer quality studies and blood transfusion reports
- Predict and avoid surgical complications in the operating room.
- Maintain or improve select KRA scores
